The Ultimate Showpiece of the Diamond Dream Store
is the 1200-Gallon Saltwater Reef Aquarium right in the middle of the store.
All kinds. Big ones, Little ones. They all get along and are all very happy.
Everyone has their own “job” in the tank too. Some are charge of eating algae.
Others, help keep the glass clean.
What do the fish EAT?
The fish are fed a combination of natural algae, dried seaweed
and brine shrimp at least once per day.
How BIG is it?
It’s really BIG.
It holds 1200 gallons of salt water. If you think about it,
1-gallon of water weighs 8.5 pounds, so if we crunch the numbers,
just the water in the aquarium weighs over five tons!
To hold all that water, it’s 12ft long x 4ft wide x 3 ft tall.
What's it MADE of?
It’s made of 3/4-inch Star Fire Glass.
It’s a material that’s almost invisible and allows the
vibrant colors of the fish and coral to shine right into the room.
Plus, the tank has a very extensive filtration system
that cycles over 6000-gallons of salt water through the tank every hour.
WHO takes care of it?
We do it ourselves!
An outside company has never helped us maintain our aquarium.
Is it a lot of WORK?
We spend at least an hour a day working on the aquarium
and keeping the water at the correct pH levels.
The inside of the tank is cleaned at least three times per week
with two large magnets.
Do I have to BUY something to come check it out?
Folks are always welcome to stop by anytime to check it out …
no purchase necessary.
