The Meridian Food Bank...

was created to serve the people in our community that are facing the challenge of not having enough food for themselves and their families. In 2018, the Meridian Food Bank distributed over one million pounds of food to help more than 19,500 households in need throughout the Treasure Valley.

The Meridian Food Bank also sponsors a backpack food program for the West Ada School District. Many students who receive free or reduced-price lunches need extra food assistance, particularly over the weekend. The Backpack Food Program provides qualifying students with a backpack each Friday filled with enough food for six meals and two snacks. In 2018, over 19,000 backpacks were distributed to kids in need.

The Meridian Food Bank is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) status organization, operated entirely by volunteers. The staff at the Meridian Food Bank do not receive any monetary compensation for their efforts, and virtually all donations go to supporting their mission.

The Meridian Food Bank's mission is to provide nutritional services that meet the food insecurity needs of individuals and families throughout the Treasure Valley.
